Does the sling have to be a ‘name brand’ or can it be one that I made?
We prefer donations of manufactured “name brand” slings as we’re able to easily identify safety. However, we do a thorough evaluation of all slings that come our way and are happy to accept donations of Mama made slings! If you can, please include a note letting us know which brand rings you’ve used so we can check it against possible recalls.
Are you accepting just ring slings? Will you take mei tai’s, pouches, wraps?
We are only distributing ring slings at this time but will accept donations of any kind of carrier. Please note that donations of other carriers will not be eligible for the reciprocal discount at nonny & boo.
Why do you only disribute ring slings?
We’ve found that ring slings are often the most comfortable carrier. They are also very versatile in that they will accommodate almost any size baby and any size adult.
If you’re not distributing other carriers what will you do with them?
We may eventually include other carriers in our distribution but at this time will simply gather the donations.
We have been asked to expand our donations to low income, at risk mothers or open a lending library so that parents can try out different types of carriers before making a purchase. These donations may eventually be put towards these efforts.
